Female, 43 Years old
Apple Valley, CA
Looking for:
Diet, Support Buddies
About me:
I'm 42, am married, have 2 teens. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic 6/2006, and I have battled weight and bulimia since puberty. I love animals, music, gardening, and watching good movies. I love humor and I like to joke around a lot. I am interested in nature and preserving wildlife and enjoying it. I live in CA where there are lots of earthquakes which fascinate me but scare the daylights out of me too. I'd rather not have them at all. I love science but my math is not my strong point. I like to talk to people and get to know others.
We have 3 unruly chihuahuas, one geriatric pug, 2 cats, 2 african frogs, lots of fish, 2 blue mystery snails. I used to be a veterinary receptionist.

I hate diet sodas!
Who I hope to meet:
Anyone who is serious about losing weight for life. I love talking to others who are dealing with diabetes and thyroid issues so we can share our successes. I would like to improve my health so I can stop taking so many medications!!
Diet:
I am on a low-carb diet with the emphasis on diabetic control. I DO NOT DO FAD DIETS!
Exercise:
I am a Wildcat who is in lots of challenges and I am walking about 2.6 miles a day 6 times a week.

Personal Goal
I am doing this because I was diagnosed w/ type 2 diabetes June 2006. I have to take care of myself to survive and I would like to be as healthy as I can. I would like to someday be a good example or role model for other diabetics and overweight people. I believe sharing experiences helps us all get thru the tough times.
I just noticed a copied message that someone had posted something about a girl with visual problems that ended up having ms in the last forum.  I don't know who posted it, but I am going to browse the forums and look for it.  If you know what page it's on, I'd appreciate it.  And thank you for whomever posted it!
That was a post I did for you Stacy.  I'll also send this as a booster note.  ;)

A girl at the gym 27 yrs old, was having eyesight issues, she went in for a check up and they determined sh had MS.  That was 2 years ago.

Because they caught it at such a young age, she is looking forward to a very happy and productive live.

Besides her medicine, doctor requires she eat a balanced diet and exercise 1 hr a day - high cardio/intensive cardio daily, for the rest of her life.

She's very optimistic and MS is nothing but a disease she is willing to accept and live with....to her it could be worse.  I just love her outlook on a disease that can cripple a person if not caught early on.

I was complaining to her how I want to exercise daily like I did when I was single, but realize that I do have a life outside the gym, therefore I exercise less days but I get more for my money by doing 2 to 3 hours at a time 4 times or so a week.
