About me:
I am a law student in my early 20s, trying to loose weight and keep it off for good. I am rather tall, 5' 9", and so according to the BMI I'm about 10 pounds overweight now. For the last 3 years I've weighed 8 pounds less, but really I know I will look and feel great when I'm 44 pounds less.
I feel as if my general eating behaviours are not catastophic - I exercise and eat healthily - but of course there is a great need for improvement in some areas. I have problems with binge eating, which is a terrible cycle that I need to overcome. I feel that being honest here with help me with this.
I am implementing Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy techniques for weight-loss. I am actually surprised at how few here are using Dr Judith Beck's incredible book - a must for anyone who struggles with weight loss. It's not a diet, it just tells you HOW to diet along with a diet. She's a psychological genius, and with this book I know I can do it. I'm blogging my commitment as I go through the 6-week program. |
