Looking for:
Diet, Fitness, Activity, Support Buddies
About me:
On May 30, I woke up at age 37 and the heaviest I'd been in my life. I decided that June 1 was the first day of the rest of my life. "Diet" is a word that seems (to me) to indicate a start and a finish. I knew that the diet mentality would not work for me. I needed a whole body makeover. So now I watch everything I put into my mouth - until it becomes a habit anyway - and make sure that my food choices are smart and yummy. I can still have the occasional indulgence, but I have to plan for it - and I better savor it. I am trying to move my body more. I joined a gym and am working on my strength and durability.

I'm striving to lose 220 lbs, but that's not the end of the journey. There is no end goal other than health. This is my new life.
Who I hope to meet:
Other people with big goals, positive attitudes, and people with whom I can share successes, set backs, support, and encouragement. People to talk to who are in the same place as I am, and who don't mind talking about the journey.
Diet:
1750 calories - American Heart Assoc recommended pyramid - no processed whites - 35%F - 40%C - 25%P
Exercise:
Strength Training C25k Running program anything to move my body. 45 minutes a day 6 days a week

The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

~Norman Wesley Brooks

Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable, and remove yourself from the unacceptable.

~Denis Waitley

Associate yourself with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company.

~George Washington

All of the great achievers of the past have been visionary figures; they were men and women who projected into the future. They thought of what could be, rather than what already was, and then they moved themselves into action, to bring these things into fruition.

~Bob Proctor

If you have a great ambition, take as big a step as possible in the direction of fulfilling it. The step may only be a tiny one, but trust that it may be the largest one possible for now.

~Mildred Mcafee
